Greatest Hits Radio and other stakeholders were given a tour of our new state of the art Mental Health Facility at Mossley Hill earlier this week, ahead of the final preparations to make the 80-bed inpatient unit fully operational.

The national radio station was given a tour of the site, which includes four single sex wards for male and female inpatients, and also interviewed Chief Executive Officer Trish Bennett, Dr Anna Richman, Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nurse Jenny Hurst about the new facility and its significance in ending dormitory style mental health care in Liverpool.

The new facility, built on the grounds of the former Mossley Hill Hospital, has a nod to its Liverpool heritage within it, displaying striking photography pieces of landmarks from across the city, and ward names with links to notable figures from the city’s history.

Staff have already been shown around the new facilities and are enthusiastic about moving in and working in an environment with plenty of space and how it will aid them in delivering perfect patient care.

As well as indoor therapeutic spaces, there are lots of vibrant outdoor spaces available for the wards, and in the main areas available for staff, service users and visitors to enjoy.
