image-20240926-124040-1ad3bd8f.jpegOn 26 September, the first Research and Innovation knowledge mobilisation session was held at V7 with a focus on mood disorder care innovations. The session sought to enhance knowledge exchange and understanding on the topic. There was discussion on the design and implementation of the new Mersey Care mood disorders clinical service which is due to launch in the coming months.

The session was led by Research Effectiveness Lead Dr Oladayo Bifarin, Chair of Connected Mental Health (a joint appointment between Mersey Care and University of Liverpool) Prof. Dan Joyce, Research and Development Assistant at Zero Suicide Alliance Jade Corbridge, and Clinical Research and Innovation Practitioner Will Henderson.

The primary aim of the multi-disciplinary team facilitating the session was to create a space where under-represented, non-medical clinicians could engage in a two way learning process where researchers and research users work together to create and disseminate knowledge.

Attendees comments when asked afterwards about the impact of the session were:

  • “Dissemination of information, encouraging nurses to participate in research. Encouraged me to widen my knowledge on autism and consideration of risk factors.”
  • “Ensure to inform colleagues and continue to show a keen interest in research.”
  • “Link in with relevant studies and the content has reignited my research itch.”

Future knowledge mobilisation sessions are planned and will be advertised soon. Places at each session will be limited to 25 participants, and on a first come first served basis – so book your place quickly!
