10,000 complimentary tickets available for ‘Liverpool’s NHS Day’ of The Randox Grand National Festival to thank NHS heroes

Aintree Racecourse is delighted to reveal today that 10,000 complimentary tickets for the first day of the Randox Grand National Festival 2022, will be available to redeem on Wednesday 10 November at 12.00pm.

In 2020, The Jockey Club announced they were donating 10,000 complimentary tickets to the NHS and social care sector in Merseyside for the first day of the 2021 Randox Health Grand National Festival, in recognition of their hard work and commitment during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, due to continued Covid-19 pandemic at the time, government guidelines did not allow for spectators to attend the 2021 renewal of the famous Festival. With this in mind and in order to avoid pulling vital resources from NHS services at such a crucial time, Aintree decided to honour the 10,000 tickets and roll them forward to next year’s 2022 Randox Grand National Festival.

The 10,000 tickets offered will be for The Aintree Festival Zone for the first day of the Festival, which is due to take place on Thursday 7 April 2022. The Aintree Festival Zone pass gives people access to watch world class racing, enjoy fantastic live music and entertainment, enjoy plenty of food and drink, and the opportunity to see horses around the Aintree Parade Ring.

The day has also been re-named Liverpool’s NHS Day in honour of the dedicated NHS staff and volunteers across Merseyside who are working tirelessly to care for COVID-19 patients.

Dickon White, Regional Director of Jockey Club Racecourses North West, said: “Last year we donated 10,000 tickets for this year’s Randox Grand National Festival which we were delighted to do. However, I’m not sure any of us anticipated that we’d still be in the position we were in with the pandemic in April this year. We were fully committed to doing this and showing our gratitude so we thought the sensible thing to do was to honour the donation and roll it forward to the 2022 Randox Grand National Festival. We look forward to welcoming as many of you in 2022 to show our appreciation for everything they’ve been doing for us and can’t wait to enjoy a fantastic NHS celebration on the day.”

The tickets will be available from 12.00pm on Wednesday 10 November by clicking the link below:
