From Monday 15 January the mapping of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Basic and Enhanced Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be changed to reflect below:
- It has been agreed that clinical staff in the Mental Health Care Division and Secure Care Division will step up from the three yearly IPC Level 1 eLearning package to an annual IPC Level 2 eLearning package.
However, as these staff will now be completing the IPC Level 2 training (000 Infection Prevention and Control Level 2) this will provide them with the necessary element of PPE training to enable these clinical staff to no longer require any additional PPE training. Fit Mask Testing is also no longer required for staff in these divisions but is subject to review.
- Community Care Division clinical staff will remain mapped to the annual Level 2 eLearning package but will no longer be required to complete the IPC Level 1 or PPE and Fit Mask Testing.
However, Walk In Centres, Dental and Speech and Language staff will still need to complete the annual Extended PPE eLearning module (350 Role Specific Extended PPE) and attend the two yearly Fit Mask Testing (350 Role Specific (Interim) PPE Fit Testing) facilitated by the Clinical Skills team, clinicalskillsteam
