Congratulations to Halton Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service (CYPMHS) Team who braved the cold last weekend to take part in the annual BTR Liverpool Santa Dash. As well as picking up a ton of festive cheer, they also collected their winner’s medals plus an impressive fundraising total to support their service.
The team came together with the goal of raising funds via Mersey Cares to launch an art project for their service, raising an incredible £1,173 towards it.
In a record-breaking event - the UK’s largest festive 5K - the team joined over 10,000 Santas to dash through the streets of Liverpool. Even Winston, their beloved mascot, got in on the fun, sporting his very own Santa suit!
Supporting Winston was Sam Schug (Clinical Lead), Nicola Hamlin (Art Psychotherapist), Rory Hesketh (Consultant Psychiatrist), Reanna Donnelly (Senior Mental Health Practitioner), Louise Smith (Assistant Psychologist), Rachael Clarke(Clinical Psychologist) and Ugur Ucyildiz (Psychiatrist).
Mersey Care art psychotherapist Nicola said, “It was a great day – the team all seemed to really enjoy themselves and it is amazing to see how much money we have raised for our art project. Thank you so much to everyone who donated!”
If you would like to make a donation towards the art project, the team’s fundraising page is still open: The Mersey Care NHS Charity: Liverpool Santa Dash 2025
