Essential maintenance was carried out today on the EPMA servers to improve system resilience. This has unexpectedly impacted the EPMA business laptops located throughout the Trust, which are currently offline.
In the event of any unexpected downtime the in-patient wards will be unable to print the Medication Administration Charts (MAC) and Medication Administration Profiles (MAP) using the EPMA business continuity laptops and printers.
This issue has been logged as a priority with the system supplier CMM.
Please continue to use the EPMA as usual whilst the system is live.
Whilst we do not anticipate any unplanned downtime, ward staff are required to print a copy of the current MAC/MAP charts using the live EPMA system as described below:
Creating a medicines administration chart MAC report
Creating a medicines administration profile MAP report
In the event of any unexpected downtime, please contact the Bronze on Call/ Duty Manager immediately.
Ward staff can do this from their usual laptop or desktop, printing cannot be actioned from the business continuity laptop until this issue is resolved.
Please note MAC/MAP are only valid for the time they are printed and will not reflect any changes made to the live system, any changes to medication charts will need to be reprinted at the time of each update. Each ward is responsible for the printing of the MAC/MAP until the EPMA Business Continuity solution is back online.
