In 2021, Sonia Roberts, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Following her diagnosis, Sonia found a passion for dragon boating and joined the Pool of Life, Breast Cancer Survivors’ team.
Now, Sonia (pictured second left wearing a cream hat) is about to make history and compete as part of the first breast cancer survivors’ dragon boat team representing Great Britain in the 17th World Championships in Brandenburg, Germany, this July.
This incredible journey requires more than just hard work, courage, determination, and talent; it also demands financial commitment. Sonia is reaching out to her Mersey Care colleagues for support. The costs of training, travel and equipment associated with competing at this level can add up quickly. With our support, Sonia can focus on training, preparation and bringing a medal home!
