Today we are celebrating National Healthcare Estates and Facilities Day. We will be raising profile of the essential work of all estates and facilities professions in the delivery of health and social care.
Today, the team are hosting information stands in the café areas at the following sites: Broadoak, Clock View, Hartley, Whalley, Ashworth, and Hollins Park Hospitals, come over and find out more about what we do.
Nationally, estates and facilities services are estimated to make up 8 percent of the NHS workforce, that’s a huge 250,000 people.
Here at Mersey care we have in the region of 600 staff working hard so our buildings, environments and facilities are well maintained, safe, secure and provide a great overall experience for patients, service users and our staff. The team also work hard to make sure patients and goods are in the right place at the right time.
The public perception of the NHS is often focussed on medical staff, but patient care would be impossible without an army of estates and facilities professionals working alongside them. Our team includes maintenance staff, catering and hospitality teams, facilities management assistants, health and safety advisors, porters, gardeners, sustainability leads and transport services to name but a few.
Over the years, the team have led and supported the build of award winning hospitals; Clock View, Hartley, Aspen Wood, Rowan View and Mossley Hill, check out some of the team’s highlights from April 2022 to March 23.
A huge thanks to all of the team for the work you do each and every day.
