On 27 March, we’re delighted to celebrate Hospital Pharmacy Day and shine a spotlight on our incredible Mersey Care Medicines Management Team and how we work together.

Looking for a fun, meaningful way to bring your team together in 2026? Why not take on a fundraising challenge for our Trust’s charity, Mersey Cares? Joining a team fundraiser is a brilliant way to boost morale, strengthen team bonds, and improve physical health and wellbeing — all while raising money to support projects that make a real difference for our patients, service users and staff.

In our new impact series, we’re showcasing how Mersey Cares supports patients, families and staff. Working with the Palliative Care Team and District Nurses, charitable funding has provided resources to help families through grief and aided staff in delivering compassionate end of life care.

Mersey Care has been sub-contracted to deliver specialist community services across West Lancashire in partnership with Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (MWL) following a competitive tendering process by NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board.

Work is continuing at the V7 building to replace the existing revolving reception door to improve accessibility and access, and to upgrade the door control system. The side door and rear car park doors remain operational.
