Over the past year, The Life Rooms Secure team at Ashworth Hospital has delivered more than 28,000 sessions supporting patient wellbeing through creative, therapeutic activities. From daily art and music groups to colourful tie-dye workshops and powerful performance showcases, the service is helping patients build confidence and connection.

This week NHS England’s National Medical Director for Mental Health and Neurodiversity toured two of our facilities and came away inspired and impressed by the work of our staff.

Our Low Secure forensic learning disability service has seen a 99 per cent reduction in false door alarm calls. This great news is highlighted in the 'Building Better Healthcare' magazine this month.

This service supports people who have a learning disability or who are on the autistic spectrum. They are part of our Secure Services Division, based in Hollins Park and have now been clinically operational for a year.

Patients in Secure Care are getting creative with The Life Rooms team through a series of vibrant tie-dye workshops - designed to boost wellbeing as well as wardrobes.
