  • New process for safeguarding pressure ulcers

    21 October 2024

    Following the launch of the new prevention and management of pressure ulcers Trust policy, there is an updated section on safeguarding considerations and to offer a clear process for staff. A new procedure has been introduced which will involve the completion of a new safeguarding template on EMIS known as the Adult Safeguarding Decision Guide.

  • Superintendent Recognition Award

    Lori Fair, our Clinical Lead in Maternal Mental Health Services (Silver Birch Hubs) has received the Cheshire Constabulary ‘Superintendent’s Recognition award for Outstanding Courage and Bravery' when she saved the life of a young man in extremely dangerous circumstances.

  • New DVT pathway accessible via Mersey Care WICs and UTCs

    11 October 2024

    The Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) pathway has been put in place for all patients who have a GP registered in Liverpool, South Sefton or Knowsley. It provides same day assessment, investigation and diagnosis and is available seven days a week. Referrals can be made via SPC and is also available to patients who self present.

  • MSK St Helens Community Appointment Day

    10 October 2024

    Mersey Care is planning a Community Appointment Day on 30 October for patients within the Musculoskeletal Service across St Helens. This will enable patients to attend a community location where they can discuss their needs with MSK clinicians, physiotherapists, AHPs, charities, voluntary services and other community services.

    Earlier this week, we were joined by 50 local partners, stakeholders and professionals at a morning event at the Peace Centre to hear from service leads and an expert by experience, Danielle, one of the mums who had used the Knowsley service ten years ago.
