  • Change of operational hours for Specialist Palliative Care

    The Specialist Palliative Care service in Knowsley and St Helens, is extending their operational hours.

  • Protection against Chickenpox

    6 January 2026

    Children are now offered protection against chickenpox, with the launch of the MMRV vaccine. For most children chickenpox can be mild, but for others it can be serious and lead to complications and hospitalisation. From 1 January 2026 children will be offered protection against chickenpox in the NHS routine childhood vaccine schedule from 12 months old.

  • Regional Mother and Baby Unit now open

    Seren Lodge is open! The specialist Mother and Baby mental health unit will now support pregnant and postnatal women experiencing severe mental ill health from across Cheshire, Merseyside, and North Wales. Designed with input from women with lived experience, the unit provides care closer to home in a therapeutic environment.

    A 58-year-old dad from Liverpool with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) has successfully completed the city’s Santa Dash, raising money for charity.
