The safety assessment framework (replacing risk assessments in mental health) is now entering the second phase of work within the Trust. Please see the Intranet page (Safety Assessment Framework :: YourSpace Mersey Care) for more information.
Following our phase 1 workshops with staff in November 2025 and January 2026, we have been incorporating your feedback to update the mandatory training package.
What’s new?
The training will be delivered in three modules:
- Safety Assessment - this module will highlight changes to how we understand and assess safety in line with the new guidance.
- Safety Formulation - this module will develop formulation skills and provide guidance for more specific groups of service users.
- Safety Management and Planning - this module will continue to be developed during 2026 and is currently unchanged.
What does this mean for staff?
We are inviting you to attend the first round of a number of roadshows to review the safety assessment and safety formulation training modules, test the new training and help shape the final version before it becomes mandatory and replaces eRISK training next year. Attending will not affect your current mandatory training compliance on eRISK.
