Rosie and I wanted to thank everyone for their unwavering dedication and hard work during this particularly challenging period. The winter season invariably brings a significant increase in demand for NHS services which is compounded by the awful adverse weather conditions. Together with the heightened local system pressures, this period has indeed been particularly challenging.

Some of you may have received a letter from Payroll explaining that the payroll calculations for the back pay for bank staff annual leave back pay for the period from April 2024 to September 2024 were based on 2023 data.

The Information Commissioner’s Office Ripple Effect campaign aims to raise awareness of the significant impact that data breaches can have on individuals and communities. Data protection is about safeguarding individuals, not just managing systems. It may have been an admin error, but nationally some patients and service users have had to leave home as a result.

Vaccines are a vital tool in our defence against public health outbreaks. It’s critical that as many people as possible are vaccinated to make sure we protect ourselves, our families, our patients and service users, from becoming seriously ill and increasing the pressure on NHS services.
