Best wishes to Dr Yusuf Pervez, who retired this week after 30 years service. Yusuf has worked in the NHS since 1993 and began working as a Consultant in Hollins Park Hospital in 2000. He then joined Mersey Care in 2007 covering Anfield CMHT, where he remained.

Yusef outlines his dedication to providing care below:

"I have long affiliation with Mersey Care as most of my training jobs were in Liverpool. I have always been interested in teaching and training of junior doctors and was Clinical tutor for few years at Hollins Park. I’m passionate about patient care and has always been my priority and I was the pioneer in involving carers in the training of junior doctors as Royal College Initiative. I have worked with the Royal College of Psychiatrists as deputy & Regional Advisor Mersey Region for 10 years, contributing & improving the Psychiatric Training in the region working closely with School of Psychiatry. I’m privileged that many of my trainees are working as consultant colleagues in Mersey Care and neighbouring trusts. As Regional Advisor, I tried to make sure that Consultant Jobs are balanced, doable and appropriately supported. I have been  an examiner for the Royal College of Psychiatrists for the past 12 years. I have other roles including Medical Member First Tier Mental Health Tribunals (MOJ) and Second Opinion appointed Doctor (SOAD) by CQC."

Best wishes for the future and thank you for your service, from everyone at Mersey Care.
