One of our heart failure virtual ward patients Colette Melia, appeared on the World at One programme yesterday, for BBC Radio 4. She spoke with the host Sarah Montague, about the benefits of being on a virtual ward and receiving remote treatment from the comfort of her own home.

She also explained how the equipment provided to patients by the Telehealth service is simple to use and enables her to upload daily readings. This can include oxygen levels, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, ECG, step count and temperature. The system then highlights any significant trends from the data which helps them to focus on patients who look as though they would benefit from input, rather than those who are recovering well.
