Staff using the junction of the M57, M58, A59 and the roads to Maghull and Aintree should note that a series of lane and road closures will be taking place from 15 June 2026. National Highways are carrying out essential resurfacing and improvement works at Switch Island until September. They advise motorists to allow extra time for journeys. Much of the work will be done overnight with signed diversions in place.
