From Wednesday 19 July, passcode requirements for NHS Smartcards will change as part of a national update to the Care Identity Service (CIS) for health and care staff.

Nationally, there has been a significant proportion of downtime recently due to a planned system migration over a weekend period that did not go to plan. This resulted in TRAC being down for five days with intermittent issues for a further five days. This has been outside of our control.
