As many of you know the Trust uses the national TRAC system for the management of vacancies and candidates. Nationally, there has been a significant proportion of downtime recently due to a planned system migration over a weekend period that did not go to plan. This resulted in TRAC being down for five days with intermittent issues for a further five days. This has been outside of our control.
For Mersey Care it’s meant significant delays in processing vacancy requests, as well as undertaking candidate checks, at a very busy period when we’ve seen both vacancies and candidates in the system increasing by approximately 5% from the previous month.
We’ve also been made aware of an issue with some TRAC communications disappearing from the system. We’re not clear on the number of messages involved but have been advised the main problems appear to have happened after 6pm on 16 June through to 4 July 2023.
This will be extremely frustrating for recruiting managers and we apologise for this. Equally, it’s impacted the workload of the recruitment team considerably. Whilst they’re working tirelessly to mitigate the impact, they ask you to support them by asking recruiting managers to review their candidates in TRAC, where possible. However, if you have an issue that you can’t resolve or something you need is not on the system, please call the team on 0151 472 7557 - emailing or asking via TRAC messaging is adding to the backlog and may unintentionally lead to further delays.
