Mersey Care is adopting a new occupational health computer system from next month.
Civica Occupational Health (also known as OPAS-G2) is a cloud-based software package that can be accessed via a URL on any internet device, and will manage the process of booking and being allocated support in our existing occupational health and wellbeing service.
OPAS-G2 is described as an intuitive and advanced piece of software which is accessible for referrals to be created and viewed online 24/7 and provides a secure platform for us to run our service for colleagues, including management referrals, self-referrals, health surveillance, wellbeing activities, and reporting activity.
Managers will be provided with full training on how to create a referral and navigate OPAS-G2 via Teams sessions ahead of the switchover. It’s likely to take no more than 30 minutes to be shown how to use it. A new training time on 17 April is listed below.
Ahead of this we’ve worked with leads across the divisions and information will be shared in the next managers’ briefing as well.
Please note that Occupational Health will have a legacy view of the data from Health Manager. As managers will not have direct access to this we are asking them to download any reports they may need to avoid having a constant stream of requests in to OH for data. This will reduce pressure on that service. This change does not affect the Absence Manager system.
Rollout will happen on 25 April 2024.
The final day for referrals into the old Health Manager system will be 5 April 2024. Existing referrals will continue to be processed within Health Manager until completion
From 6 to 24 April there will be a transition period in which no new occupational health referrals will be accepted. Managers are asked to wait to make new referrals until the launch of OPAS-G2.
In exceptional circumstances only ahead of the new system, please contact the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team on 01925 664 101 or OHWB
