The Life Rooms team at Ashworth Hospital partnered with Royal Liverpool Philharmonic musicians to explore silence, improvisation, and nocturnes. Highlights included a piece inspired by Nirvana’s “Come as You Are” and a patient-composed nocturne. This project showcased the therapeutic power of music, fostering self-expression, active listening, and emotional connection.

As part of the Trust’s clinical outcomes programme, we have been working with colleagues across low and medium secure services on a new version of the PREOM (the patient outcome and experience measure that is used as part of CPA preparations in various secure division services) and development of supporting guidance.
