One of the biggest events in our fundraising calendar is back — and we’d love to see more teams across the Trust lacing up their hiking boots and getting involved!

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge returns on 6 June, offering a fantastic opportunity to meet colleagues from across the organisation, boost your physical health and wellbeing, and raise vital funds for Mersey Cares, our dedicated Trust charity.

This iconic 24.5 mile circular route takes on the three famous peaks of the Yorkshire Dales: Pen‑y‑Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. It’s a tough but incredibly rewarding day, and past participants consistently describe the sense of achievement, camaraderie and laughter along the way.

You’ll be fully supported

The event is led by an experienced team of mountain guides who are with you every step of the journey. They also offer training advice and practice walks in the weeks beforehand, helping you build confidence, fitness and a great team spirit before you even reach the starting point.

Why take part?

By joining the challenge, you’ll help raise funds that bring to life projects supporting service users and patients in meaningful, practical and inspiring ways — from resources to support recovery and wellbeing to improvements in our green spaces and therapeutic environments.

If you’d like to understand the real difference this makes across our communities, take a look at our Impact Report. It was this collection of successful initiatives that inspired Elsa Bulkley , Assistant Practitioner in the ICRAS Central and South Urgent Therapy Team, to get involved after seeing the positive change made possible by staff supporters. We want to keep doing more of this — but we can’t do it without you.

Hear from previous participants

Those who’ve taken on the Yorkshire Three Peaks with us before have described it as “unforgettable,” “motivating,” and “one of the best team experiences.” You can read more of their reflections in our previous articles:
