Occupational Health appointments: temporary delays due to increased demand

Manager referrals to Occupational Health and Wellbeing (OHWB) have risen significantly in recent months. Our weekly average has almost doubled from 50 to 96, and we anticipate this higher demand will continue for several months.

To help manage this, we’ve reallocated clinics to maximise capacity for management referrals. However, this alone will not fully offset the increased referral rate.

What this means for you:

• OHWB appointment wait times will be longer than usual
• All management referrals are triaged on receipt and allocated to the most appropriate clinician
• We’ll keep you updated on any changes through regular communications.

Please help us reduce wasted appointments:

If you cannot attend your appointment, cancel at least 48 hours in advance by calling 01925 664010 or emailing ohwb@merseycare.nhs.uk. This allows us to offer the slot to someone else.
