Rev Sara Doyle, Mental Health Division’s Co-ordinating Chaplain, will be on site all day today, Thursday, 1 August, at Hartley Hospital in Southport.

I just wanted to update you on a few changes to the Executive Leadership Team and the interim arrangements that will take effect from Thursday, 1 August 2024. Trish Bennett will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer Designate. I will maintain overall responsibility to the Board of Directors until I retire at the end of October.

Katie has been at Mersey Care for 22 years, with a vast range of experience and roles specifically addictions and community mental health. Katie will be missed by all teams, peers and colleagues and we wish her well within her new role in the voluntary sector.

We’re aware that due to road closures Tuesday evening, some staff may experience issues travelling in and around the Southport area.

We understand that the distressing incident in Southport yesterday (Monday, 29 July) will have had an effect on you directly or those you may know, particularly due to the close proximity to some of our services within the area.
