Leigh Moss Community Hub wishes to share the sad news that Paul Melia, a very much loved and respected member of the team, has sadly passed away on Wednesday 13 August 2025.

A community mental health nurse for the NHS for over 24 years, Paul will be remembered as a true team player – supportive, dependable and always ready with the perfect witty remark to lift the mood.

The team said, "His humour kept us smiling through the busiest of days. Paul embodied everything it means to be a nurse and did it with such pride. We were lucky to work with him; he was a friend to many and will be so very missed. There will be a hole left in the team that can never be filled.

"We carry forward this spirit - a mix of humour, teamwork and the reminder that even in hard times, laughter is often the best strategy. Though Paul has now passed, his legacy of laughter, encouragement and dry wit will live on throughout Leigh Moss and many other colleagues he has worked alongside in the past. Rest in peace Paul."

Paul’s funeral will take place on Thursday, 28 August 2025 from 9.30am at St Matthews Church, followed by Anfield Crematorium. Paul requested that everyone wear something royal blue.
