Virgin Media O2 has confirmed that repair work is underway to resolve the major fibre break affecting core network services.

Current Status:

  • Civils teams are on-site and progressing with the fix plan.
  • Work involves enlarging an existing chamber at one end and building a new chamber at the other end, which requires traffic management.
  • Cable preparation and fibre splicing will follow once chambers are complete.

Resources:

  • Network engineers, splicing teams, and civils crews are actively engaged.
  • Traffic management has been requested; ETA to be confirmed.
