It has been a very difficult few days for all of us since the distressing news from Southport came through on Monday. It has presented considerable challenges to Mersey Care as an organisation, but once again we have all overcome those challenges to keep our patients, service users and carers safe while continuing to deliver high quality services to the communities in Sefton and beyond.

We would like to welcome you to our second Research and Innovation Forum on 19 August 2024 at The Lakeside, Crosby 1pm to 4pm. We are delighted to be joined by Dr Hazel Roddam lead author of the AHP Research Strategy for England, along with internal speakers presenting their research and experiences with NHIR schemes.

A major new course, leading to a Diploma in Practice Leadership in the HOPE(S) model of care to reduce long-term segregation, has been launched by the Restraint Reduction Network in collaboration with the Trust.

Mersey Care was at Liverpool Pride last weekend. The day was a great success!

Rev Sara Doyle, Mental Health Division’s Co-ordinating Chaplain, will be on site all day today, Thursday, 1 August, at Hartley Hospital in Southport.
