Training sessions on how to implement PURPOSE-T

The Tissue Viability Nurses are arranging two further sessions on how to implement PURPOSE-T (Pressure Ulcer Risk Primary or Secondary Evaluation Tool), which is available to all staff across the Trust. Tissue Viability Nurses will be discussing the changes and the roll out of the new pressure ulcer categories which involve the removal of the term ‘Deep Tissue Injury’ (DTI) and ‘unstageable pressure ulcer’.

Superintendent Recognition Award

Lori Fair, our Clinical Lead in Maternal Mental Health Services (Silver Birch Hubs) has received the Cheshire Constabulary ‘Superintendent’s Recognition award for Outstanding Courage and Bravery' when she saved the life of a young man in extremely dangerous circumstances.

New DVT pathway accessible via Mersey Care WICs and UTCs

The Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) pathway has been put in place for all patients who have a GP registered in Liverpool, South Sefton or Knowsley. It provides same day assessment, investigation and diagnosis and is available seven days a week. Referrals can be made via SPC and is also available to patients who self present.
