We’re aware of planned protest activity on County Road, Walton, on Saturday, 13 June from around noon. This includes a protest linked to calls for ‘mass deportation’, as well as a counter-protest by Stand Up to Racism, with activity expected to move towards the Saladin Mosque.
If you feel anxious or concerned, please remember that support is available through your line manager, our wellbeing offer and staff support services. Targeted support also remains available for anyone affected by racism and Islamophobia.
We recognise this may affect staff travelling to and from work or cause understandable concern. If you are due to be at work and/or travelling through the area:
- Please plan your journey in advance and allow extra time where possible
- Follow any advice from the police on road closures or diversions
- Avoid areas where protests are taking place if possible
- Speak to your manager if you need support with travelling to work
- If you feel unsafe at any point, remove yourself from the situation and contact your line manager.
Managers are asked to remain flexible where there may be travel disruption and to support staff who are affected.
Thank you for your continued professionalism and for looking out for one another.
