Dear all,

I’m delighted to be given this opportunity to welcome a group of talented, hard working and high quality people into the Trust and want you to settle in and feel part of the Mersey Care family.

I hope we’ve helped make your transfer from North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust smooth, with the various online engagement events, regular communication and a comprehensive welcome booklet delivered straight to your door - you’re all now a valuable part of our workforce. You can also access the staff handbook in PDF or Word document formats below:

It’s an exciting time to join Mersey Care. Southport and Formby Community Services recently transferred to the Trust and we now provide community services across the whole of the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.

Our organisations coming together presents opportunities to make sure high quality, integrated physical and mental health services are provided across an enlarged footprint. We aim to improve the health of the communities we serve; help meet the growing demand for out of hospital services and increasingly provide care closer to home.

The benefits of having new people, with different skills, expertise and experiences cannot be underestimated. I hope you’ll find your new colleagues both friendly and eager to share best practice and together we can learn from each other and make a real difference.

I recently started to share my blog with you, and you can expect to receive this every Monday where I brief you on important issues, awards, fundraising and significant events. Please take time out to read it and familiar yourself the work of the Trust, as well as our priorities including a Restorative Just and Learning Culture, Zero Suicide and Zero Acceptance of Racism, Discriminatory and Disrespectful Behaviour.

I look forward to meeting you all over the coming weeks and months. Please keep up the great work and let’s strive to achieve our vision of perfect care for our patients, services users, carers, and their families.
