Today, Friday 10 September, is World Suicide Prevention Day. A day used by people and organisations across the world to raise awareness that suicide can be prevented.
In previous years we’ve talked about:
- The importance of language
- Understanding and responding to suicidal feelings
- How to spot the warning signs
- Support for anyone who has been bereaved by suicide
- Myths
- Stigma
- Zero Suicide Alliance training
This year we want to talk about hope and recovery.
Hope is an important part of our wellbeing and feeling like there is no hope can be very hard.
Trying to regain hope can be hard, particularly when you are struggling with mental illness or going through a difficult time in your life.
We want to reassure you that finding hope is possible and we see it every single day.
We want you to tell us what helps give you and your patients hope so we can share these with those who may need some inspiration.
Here are some hope ideas that our staff and patients have shared with us and hopefully they will inspire others to find hope.
