Mersey Care welcomes Ukrainian delegation

Last week, we welcomed a delegation from Ukraine and the World Health Organisation (WHO) to Liverpool to share learning on mental health care rooted in human rights, compassion and recovery.

The visit, from 22 to 26 June, is part of the WHO’s QualityRights programme, which supports Ukraine’s ongoing mental health reform and focuses on community-based, trauma-informed care.

Delegates took part in discussions, workshops and visits to services including Mossley Hill, Aspen Wood and The Life Rooms. The visit was an important opportunity to learn from one another, share best practice and strengthen care that puts people first.

The visit also highlights Mersey Care’s national work to reduce restrictive practice through the HOPE(S) model, supporting safer, more compassionate care across the country.
