Looking back on last year’s Operational Plan
As we look back on last year’s Operational Plan (2025 to 2026), we want to thank colleagues across the Trust for the progress made in delivering our priorities and improving care for the people and communities we serve.
Over the year, teams helped reduce waiting times and missed appointments, supported improvements in patient flow, and contributed to shorter lengths of stay in older adult mental health services. The opening of Mossley Hill Hospital was also a major milestone, helping to eliminate dormitory wards in Liverpool.
There was good progress too in digital transformation, with e-observations now live across all inpatient wards and dashboards helping teams make better use of information. The Trust also delivered two percent efficiency savings, alongside reductions in bank and agency spend.
For our people, turnover reduced, qualified nurse vacancy rates remained stable, and work continued to support wellbeing, equality standards and apprenticeship opportunities. Stronger partnerships and growing research activity also helped support innovation and improve services.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in this important work. Our Operational Plan 2026 to 2027 was approved by the Board in May and will be published shortly, it reflects feedback and learning from last year, and colleagues heard more about it at Your Brief, watch this space for further updates.
