This guidance has been developed based on the document: Reducing the risk of choking for people with a learning disability: a multi-agency review in Hampshire produced by Hampshire Safeguarding Adults Board Multi-Agency Partnership (2012) abd Supporting People at Risk of Choking Policy (2016) by Hampshire County Council. This document provides guidelines for staff to help identify when a person may be at risk of choking as well as practice guidelines regarding the choking risk pathway.
