The contract for Rowlands Pharmacy based at Hollins Park Hospital will end at midnight on Saturday, 30 September. From 1 October, the staff and service will transfer to Mersey Care, and will operate as a satellite to the main Trust pharmacy at Maghull Health Park.
This transfer necessitates the Trust to purchase the existing medicines held in the Rowlands Pharmacy and therefore a stocktake is required.
The stocktake will take place on Saturday, 30 September and will take approximately six hours to complete, requiring the pharmacy to close at 12 noon.
While ordering activity is very low on a Saturday afternoon, wards and teams are asked to anticipate this earlier closing time by ensuring all anticipated requirements are requested in the preceding days. Members of the Medicines Management Team will work with wards/teams this week to prompt and support such anticipatory requirements.
From Sunday, 1 October 2023 the Hollins Park Pharmacy opening hours will be realigned alongside the main Mersey Care Medicines Management Department provision at Maghull Health Park.
The new and aligned hours from Sunday, 1 October 2023 are as follows:
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm
Weekends 9.30pm to 1.30pm
Bank Holidays 9.30 to 1.30pm
The cut off times for ordering medication from the Hollins Park Pharmacy will also align with the main Mersey Care Medicines Management Department as follows:
Monday to Friday 10.45am for morning delivery and 3.45pm for afternoon delivery
Weekends 12pm
Bank Holidays 12pm
The new email address for the Hollins Park Pharmacy should be used for any communications to the pharmacy from Sunday, 1 October. The email address is: pharmacyhollinspark
The Out of Hours Emergency Pharmacist will be available for advice, including advice on supply whenever the pharmacy is closed.
