As a Trust we are going to extend Telehealth across all our services, and want each division (Community, Mental Health and Secure) to embrace this technology.
To demonstrate the benefits it can bring to you and your patients, we are inviting staff to attend a Telehealth Market Place Event on Wednesday 8 November, so you can test the equipment and speak with the experts. The feedback you provide is vital, as it will determine the Telehealth system supplier for the next 5-7 years.
Date: Wednesday 8 November
Time: 9:30am to 12pm
Location: Aintree Racecourse, Princess Royal Suite, Ormskirk Road, Aintree, Liverpool, L9 5AS
Telehealth has the capability and capacity to support all services and will shape how patients are cared for in the future. We need to think how we can look after patients without always having to physically go out and see them. One Telehealth nurse on our virtual wards can manage a caseload of up to 50 patients.
Telehealth currently supports long-term condition monitoring for conditions such as COPD, diabetes and heart failure. This is in addition to virtual wards for respiratory conditions, heart failure, cancer and frailty. There are already plans to develop further pathways around ADHD, eating disorders, Community Mental Health Teams, and those awaiting heart surgery.
Telehealth equipment can include devices that record patients’ oxygen levels, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, ECG, step count and temperature. There is also wound care technology and wellbeing questions can be made available as part of the daily monitoring. Patients can easily contact a healthcare professional and interact over video calls.
So we have an indication of numbers and can manage refreshments throughout the morning, which will include a free brunch, please confirm your attendance by emailing events
