Message from Trish Bennett
I’d like to thank all staff who’ve had their flu and COVID-19 booster jabs. I know it’s been difficult for some but the protection you have given yourself and your patients is really important. As we enter what could be a really challenging winter period, this protection for our services is needed and it is absolutely essential.
For those yet to have their jabs, I really strongly urge you to seek out a time soon to be vaccinated. It’s now more important than ever. Talk to your managers, talk to our team at Maghull vaccination centre, we get it that it’s not easy for all and rule changes have left some people needing to be updated. But we are genuinely concerned that the next few months will be ones of anxiety if we aren’t all as safe as we can make ourselves. We’ve vegan jabs and we can work with you with other concerns, but we really do need everyone to do their bit.
If you’ve had your jabs outside of work, we’ll pick this up from the National Immunisation Management Service (NIMS) but if we can make it easier for you to have yours in work, please speak to your line manager or email Vaccinations
Vaccines
There remain plenty of appointments for eligible staff at Maghull Health Park vaccination centre, alternatively there are a number of other sites offering vaccinations for health and social care staff, or you can use the NHS booking line. (We are only allowed to give COVID-19 boosters to eligible staff).
Incentives
If protecting yourself, family, friends, service users isn’t incentive enough, Love2shop vouchers have been made available for £200, £100 and £50. Anyone who takes up the offer of (or has had) the COVID-19 booster is eligible for a voucher. This applies whether given by the Trust or not as long as it’s registered, as data is taken from the National Immunisation Management System (NIMS). Winners will be chosen randomly during the week commencing 13 December 2021, so that vouchers can be made available before Christmas.

Vaccination centre
The vaccination centre is at Maghull Health Park, Parkbourn, Maghull, L31 1HW. (Site entrance is via Villas Road, is on a one way system, and for those familiar with the what3words navigation system, use: unloading.spoiled.retained). If you have difficulties getting to and from the vaccination centre, please discuss this with your manager or follow the link to Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Health care workers are able to book their COVID-19 booster vaccination at various sites across Cheshire and Merseyside. Those staff who take up this offer will have to make separate arrangements for flu vaccines.
Staff only
Please don’t share booking links outside of Mersey Care as we are only allowed to vaccinate eligible staff who will need to present their ID badge on arrival at the centre. Please arrive at the vaccination centre at the time of your appointment, we’re extremely busy at the moment and this will help to keep us to schedule.
Cheshire and Merseyside Health Care Partnership offer
For those members of staff struggling to get to the vaccination centre at Maghull Health Park, or whose sites aren’t being visited as part of the roaming pilot, please find a link to Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership which allows health care workers only to book their COVID-19 booster vaccination at various sites across Cheshire and Merseyside. Those staff who take up this offer will have to make separate arrangements for flu vaccines. Please share this with colleagues so those who are eligible can make their booking. The Trust will be able to record your vaccination status, for our records, from the National Immunisation Management System (NIMS).
