Postponement of Apprenticesip and Preparation for Work Awards Ceremony (9 February)

The pandemic has given all of us many challenges, both personally and professionally. Despite these challenges our staff undertaking apprenticeship programmes continue to progress and achieve. Our services have continued to provide opportunities for people to join Mersey Care on pre-employment and preparation for work programmes and our Career Ambassadors have represented the trust at a range of events held in schools and colleges across the region, providing young people with access to quality careers information.

We want to celebrate this properly and give staff the recognition they deserve. Current work pressures have prevented you from engaging in the necessary nomination activities required, therefore, we have taken the decision to postpone the ceremony until later this year.

The theme of this year’s National Apprenticeship Week is ‘Build the Future’ (7 - 10 February)

Whether you are a manager looking to build talent and skills in your team or an individual looking at maximising your potential and developing your career, your apprenticeship team can support you to achieve your goals.

Apprenticeships are available in all sectors. There are apprenticeships at every level from Level 2 (entry level) to Level 7 (Master’s Degree level).

Anyone can access an apprenticeship. You need to be in a relevant job role, have the support of your manager, and the learning planned must be new learning and relevant to your job role. Age and previous qualifications are not a barrier.

Throughout the week we have a range of apprenticeship information events that you can access. One to one advice and guidance sessions are available Monday through to Thursday. You can meet with a member of the team and find out if apprenticeships can support your plans.

We also have a series of virtual workshops planned. Experts from different professional routes will be hosting these sessions.
