MMP23 Safe Use of Valproate
This procedure provides guidance to ensure that valpoate treatment is appropriately and safely used in accordance with regulatory requirements for all female children and women of childbearing potential and males under the age of 55 years. It advises health care professionals of the actions to be taken to educate patients on safe use of valproate and ensure awareness of the potential risk of birth defects and congenital malformations associated with taking valproate in pregnancy.
