Updated COVID-19 guidance

Guidance regarding isolation has changed again so please find a link to the latest, slightly revised, Trust standard operating procedure (SOP).

In short, please note that our position with regard to household contacts has not changed from the previous SOP, that is, household contacts should not come in to work. Household contacts do not need to isolate at home during this time but should follow advice set out below:

  • limit close contact with other people outside your household, especially in enclosed spaces
  • wear a face covering in enclosed spaces and where you are unable to maintain safe distancing
  • limit contact with anyone who is clinically extremely vulnerable
  • take part in twice weekly LFD testing

What has changed is previous advice that whilst awaiting the result of an initial PCR, you do not need to isolate. The revised guidance says that you should not be allowed into work whilst awaiting the result.

Mersey Care COVID-19 (SOPs) and policies containing isolation period advice have been updated and can be found on the COVID-19 guidance page: https://yourspace.merseycare.nhs.uk/corporate/covid-19-guidance/covid-19-staff-guidance. For further Government guidance, please click here.

Your lateral flow test kits

NHS organisations will no longer receive supplies of these kits as a new service is now available for staff to order their own from GOV.UK. Staff must continue to report all results through: https://stafftesting.merseycare.nhs.uk/ or for Mid Mersey Division staff: https://nwbstafftesting.xmerseyhc.nhs.uk/. Read our frequently asked questions on YourSpace.

As some of our COVID-19 processes and guidance will be slightly different for Mid Mersey divison staff who have transferred in from North West Boroughs Healthcare to the wider Mersey Care workforce, we have separated content below.

If you work in the following divisions, please access 'COVID-19 guidance for Mersey Care staff':

  • Local
  • Community
  • Secure and specialist LD
  • Corporate

If you work in the Mid-Mersey division and have transferred from North West Boroughs, please access 'COVID-19 guidance for Mid Mersey division staff'.
