February 7-13  2022 is National Apprenticeship Week. The trust is proud to be supporting staff on apprenticeship programmes ranging from Level 2 to Level 7. Our staff are studying on programmes from Healthcare to Horticulture and Pharmacy to Physiotherapy. We currently have over 300 staff enrolled on apprenticeship programmes and since the introduction of the apprenticeship levy in April 2017 we have had 500 staff enrol on an apprenticeship.

The trust is also a supporter of preparation for work programmes such as Kickstart and Supported Internships and have a team of career ambassadors who represent the trust at school and college events. We are very proud of this activity and of the support given both to and from our preparation for work candidates.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, staff have continued with supporting and undertaking apprenticeships and preparation for work activities and we want to celebrate and acknowledge their efforts and achievements.

We are hosting a celebratory event on Wednesday 9 February between 2pm and 4pm. The event will be virtual but every effort will be made to capture the excitement and joy our apprentices, preparation for work candidates, ambassadors, supporting managers and mentors deserve.

Any apprentice who is  currently on programme or who completed their apprenticeship after April 2020 is eligible for nomination for an award. Apprentices can nominate themselves or be nominated by a colleague, service user or manager.
