Help Us Help You this winter

Cheshire and Merseyside residents are being urged to think first before contacting emergency services this winter and instead allow Merey Care to ‘Help Us Help You,’ to get the care you need.

Last year’s ‘Help Us Help You’ campaign had a major impact on the NHS’ winter planning, with 141,947 face to face attendances at walk-in centres (WICs) and urgent treatment centres (UTCs) over the winter months – with only three percent of patients requiring onward treatment in an A&E department.

As part of the campaign, we have also updated our ‘Help Us Help You’ webpage (www.merseycare.nhs.uk/help-us-help-you), which is a one stop shop for information on how to stay healthy during winter. It includes:

• General information about NHS111, GP practices, pharmacies, walk-in centres and urgent treatment centres

• How to access urgent mental health support and NHS Talking Therapies

• Information on cost of living support

• Advice on how to keep warm

• How The Life Rooms’ services can help.
