As a member of staff, you have a duty of confidentiality in relation to all person-identifiable information.
You must only access records that are related to a working task and not review any information relating to themselves, family, friends, colleagues or anyone you know without appropriate permission.
The Trust monitors access to its systems and inappropriate access will be subject to disciplinary action. Patients also now have the ability to review access to their GP records, so where we are involved in data sharing and shared access, please be mindful of the transparency available to our patients, ensuring access is limited and for a legitimate reason.
