April is Stress Awareness Month. The theme is #LittleByLittle which is around how the smallest things can make a difference.
On our staff Facebook group, we asked what you did to help manage and relieve your stresses. Some of the top answers were spending time in nature, prioritising sleep, connecting with others and reading.

Mental health

Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services have teamed up with Knowsley Safari, to provide half day wellbeing sessions for teams across the Trust to take a step back from their day to day work and immerse themselves in nature and the great outdoors.
Funded by our charity, Mersey Cares, it is a unique opportunity to recharge, refresh, and reconnect with yourself and your colleagues.
Sessions can be booked by team managers only and places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Mental Health First Aider's develop the skills to spot signs of people experiencing poor mental health. Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services are now running courses on behalf of the organisation, with the aim of training more colleagues to be able to support the mental wellbeing of staff within the Trust.

The course runs each Tuesday from the start date below for five consecutive weeks. All sessions run from 10am to 11:30am and are delivered on Teams.

In this session we will discuss the holistic elements involved in wellbeing improvement, including self-care, the stress response and personal resilience using an individualistic approach.

Physical health
Functional yoga, in LYT style, (pronounced 'lit') is created from a physical therapist and has been designed to create smarter, better and safer movement patterns.
We understand everyone's schedules are busy so there are online and in person classes to choose from.

We have teamed with AWARD Health and Fitness to offer staff the opportunity to take part in a free, group exercise class each week.
Classes are available in the morning, afternoon and evening, Monday to Sunday. Each class is themed and take place in the instructor's studio gym in St Helens.
These classes are enrolled upon using an online booking system. Follow the booking instructions within this document.
