This year our Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes place in June and we’re looking for teams and individuals across the Trust to join us!

It’s a great event full of camaraderie, where colleagues can achieve something great for themselves, meet new people and support our mental health and community services.

The challenge covers a distance of 24.5 miles and will take you on a spectacular circular journey through the Yorkshire Dales climbing the three peaks of Pen-y-ghent (694 meters above sea level), Whernside (Yorkshire’s highest peak at 736 meters) and Ingleborough (723 meters), the final fell, before the heading down towards the finish line.

As walkers make their way around the route that was first walked in 1887, they will pass through stunning scenery including the striking Ribblehead viaduct plus views as far as Morecambe Bay on a clear day from the summit of Whernside.

You will be supported by a specialist team of mountain leaders from Overlimits who offer a number of freepractice walks in the lead up to the event – making the challenge a good one for people who would like to get into hiking but have little experience, as well as seasoned longer-distance walkers. Ahead of the event, the crew will provide advice on equipment, clothing, navigation and routes – and you’ll also be added to a friendly WhatsApp community in which you will be sent the latest updates and be invited to a zoom pre-brief. All of this for just £30 per person to support the cost of the event.
