Training dates are available for people delivering psychological interventions to either non English speakers or to asylum seekers or refugees.
Working through interpreters adds a layer of complexity to the delivery of assessments and talking therapies and many psychological professionals find this difficult. This training day aims to provide an opportunity to learn about the asylum process (and how this can often complicate the delivery of talking therapies) and to practice skills in working through interpreters.
There will be two main modules on the day.
1. Understanding the issues for asylum seekers and refugees
2. Working through interpreters
Sessions are 14 May and 18 June and can be booked through the prospectus in section nine.
