This week we celebrated carers across the Trust with friends and partners from across the area. The Carer Engagement Team hosted our first North West Regional Triangle of Care Celebration Event, bringing together staff, carers, local Trusts and partner organisations to share our achievements over the past 12 months.

Opened by Michael Crilly, Director of Social Health and Community Inclusion, the day included powerful lived experience stories from some of our very own carers. Attendees also heard from the Triangle of Care program lead, Sharon Spurling, along with carers teams in Mersey Care and from Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.

The Triangle of Care is a therapeutic alliance between carers, service users and health professionals which aims to promote safety and recovery and to sustain mental wellbeing by including and supporting carers. The Triangle of Care will soon be relaunched across Mental Health and Secure Care Divisions – please look out for upcoming updates within the Trust newsletter. Claire Willingham and the team want to thank everyone who joined in on this important day. She tells us: “It was great to have our carers share their firsthand experience with us and to hear updates from our partner organisations.”
