What type of absence do I need to report via Absence Manager?
Absence Manager is to be used if you are recording these absence types:

  • Sickness
  • Planned Surgery

How do I record my sickness absence?
You can record your sickness absence by either:

  1. Calling the Mersey Care sickness reporting line on 0330 818 6439 and using your assignment number (This can be found on your payslip)
  2. Using the Empactis Employee Portal (You will need to have registered your account to access the portal)

How do I amend or close my sickness absence?
You can amend or close your sickness absence by calling the line or logging into the portal. You should ensure your expected return date is kept up to date and remember to close your absence when you return to work.

How will I know if someone I manage reports a sickness absence?

You will receive an email notification whenever an employee reports or updates an absence.

 

What should I do when I receive my notification?

  1. Access the absence record by logging in to Empactis Absence Manager (Icon on your desktop)
  2. Call the staff member using the Manager Call Back line 0330 818 6440 (confirm successful call at the end)
  3. Add absence ‘Type and Reason’ to the absence.
    This will update Health Roster

 

How do I complete the Return-to-Work Discussion?

Once the employee has closed their absence upon their return, you will receive an email notification prompting you to carry out the return-to-work interview with 48 hours within the Absence Manager system.
