A message from Rosie Cooper, Chair, and Trish Bennett, Chief Executive Officer Designate

Our thanks to everyone who continues to support our patients during difficult and sometimes frightening incidents which have continued over the weekend in the communities where we provide our services. As a Trust we wholeheartedly condemn these racist and malicious actions.

Many of you may have friends or relatives who are affected and be concerned for them and may personally feel worried or anxious, particularly with the racism that has been seen.

If you are in need of any support, or advice, please speak to your line manager or colleagues. There is a new area on YourSpace with advice on psychological support for staff and managers, and where to go if you or anyone you know has been subject to racism or islamophobia.

As a Trust we pride ourselves on our values. Division has no place in our Trust. We will not tolerate racism, discrimination or abuse – from colleagues, patients or visitors. So please speak up, and report incidents. The Trust will fully support you in this.

Please check in with colleagues who you know may be affected or worried and offer support.
