We wanted to arrange a Teams session to give people a chance to find out more about Global Health Partnerships (who they are, what they do and how they can support, questions and answer). Global Health Partnerships (formerly THET) supports and forms mutually beneficial partnerships between health institutions in the UK, Africa, Asia and Middle East to respond to locally identified priorities which will strengthen health systems and the health workforce. Our vision is a world where everyone can access quality healthcare. Our mission is to work in partnership to strengthen health systems, build workforce capacity and support health workers across the world.
The Experts In Our Midst programme is celebrating and mobilising diaspora healthcare workers across the UK. These international staff are a unique asset to the UK health system, many of whom arrive with training and professional experience of healthcare in at least one other country. However, this expertise is often under-utilised and overlooked, leading to diaspora staff being undervalued. We are partnering with healthcare providers in the UK to raise awareness of the contributions diaspora are making to health in the UK and across the world, harnessing their expertise for health system strengthening globally.
